2020, A Year of Hope and Gratitude

Do-It-For-The-Love-2021

2020 was a year that like no other... because of the global pandemic, we were dealt challenges we never expected – in how we interacted with our family and friends, in how we experienced live music – we experienced hardship, economic hardships, and most painfully the loss of those we loved.

Desmond Tutu said, "Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

As we moved into 2021, we looked back at the last 7 years – the stories of the individuals, their families, and caregivers we served. This gave us hope.

Though live music came to a stop in March of 2020. Michael launched his Stay At Home live-stream concerts. As a family, we decided to donate $1 of every ticket sold to Do It For The Love. We also launched text-2-give, something brand new to the organization, through these same live-stream concerts. Both were a huge success and allowed us to raise over $150,000.

Your support throughout 2020 did not go unnoticed. To our donors who continued to work with us - thank you.

To our board who helped keep us grounded, focused - thank you.

We also want to give a huge thank you to our team of employees and also contractors who helped Do It For The Love continue to move forward and stay on its feet. These are uncertain times and our team has consistently risen up for whatever challenge has come before them this year - thank you.

Each year remains an unknown in front of us, but as an organization, we stay committed to our mission: to bring joy, hope, and healing through live music.
