Sara Talks about Vines & Vibes
August 26, 2018
Not everyone has the chance to come face to face with their hero. We had the opportunity to provide just this opportunity to a 14-year-old boy named Will, who has been completely blind since birth. His inspiration is Stevie Wonder, and the two sat down together after a recent concert to talk about music and life. As Will’s dad said: “The smile on Will’s face in the pictures says it all. this was an experience he will carry with him forever.”
“Will is also an inspiring jazz musician. To say that Stevie Wonder is his hero is almost an understatement. He finds Stevie inspirational on multiple levels – his musical talent, his message of love and his personal and career success despite the disadvantage of blindness.
“Our night included VIP lanyards and special VIP seating near the stage, which made us all feel very special, especially Will. After a great show, we were invited to a meet and greet session with several other patrons. When our turn came, it was clear Stevie and his staff were aware Will was waiting to meet him. He showed a very genuine interest in Will and actually moved the meeting to a private room to spend a few minutes talking with Will and answering his questions. The smile on Will’s face in the pictures says it all. this was an experience he will carry with him forever. How many people actually get to meet their heroes in person?
“It is difficult to articulate how thankful we are to Do It For The Love for making this opportunity possible. It was truly once in a lifetime”
