Skylar is a beautiful 15-year-old with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma who feels inspired by the music from Panic! At The Disco.
“What I will remember most about this experience is how much of a celebration it was. I finished my chemotherapy three weeks before and had a final surgery two weeks before. I had been looking forward to going to the concert for four months and it was even better than I ever could have imagined. This experience made me feel special because I spent time during some of my early treatments figuring out who I wanted to see and when. Seeing Panic! At The Disco with VIP passes and seats with an amazing view of the stage was phenomenal. It was the first time in a long time I can remember not having to worry about anything and get to have fun. Not only is the actual concert Do It For The Love a great experience and so amazing, but the planning part is so important. Thinking about something fun while receiving medical treatment is incredibly helpful in feeling better. For me, thinking about my concert was one of the things that could always make me happy, even when I was too sick to move. This experience has enhanced my life by bringing in wonderful memories. Every time I see a picture I took or hear a song from the concert, I will be filled with wonderful memories not only of how amazing the concert was but also of my strength that allowed me to beat Hodgkins Lymphoma.”
