Olivia Meets James Taylor

December 4, 2014

“My daughter, Olivia, is a six-year old girl living with an extremely rare brain disease called Alexander Disease. Just after Thanksgiving, Do It For The Love granted a wish to attend the James Taylor concert in Pittsburgh, PA concert, where we were also invited backstage to meet James himself. He asked many questions about Olivia and wanted to get to know her. He even put on one of her “Team Olivia Kay” wristbands and wore it after the show. What an awesome experience that she will never forget!

Olivia’s beloved Grandpa Jim, who passed away in January, used to play James Taylor songs to her on his acoustic guitar. Before she became ill, Olivia would sit on the floor staring up at her Grandpa as he strummed away many of Taylor’s tunes such as “Fire and Rain” and “You’ve Got a Friend.” When Olivia was first diagnosed, she was still able to smile. She would light right up when he would play the songs for her. Even though she couldn’t communicate verbally, she could communicate with her eyes. She loved this music so much!

Thank you Do It For The Love Foundation and to James Taylor for making music dreams come true!”
