April 27, 2015

Michael, a 16-year old from Denver recently underwent corrective surgery for a congenital deformity of the anterior wall of the chest called pectux excavatum. After a challenging hospital stay, he submitted a nomination to see Motown: The Musical with his family.

“As a Michael Jackson fan, I knew that I couldn’t skip on the Motown: TheMusical in the Buell Theater after I read that the Jackson 5 was among the talents that would be portrayed in the musical,” Michael said. “Even though the musical was a mere two days ago, I vividly remember when Berry Gordy’s manager introduced the Jackson 5 to the stage; my smile was a literal ear-to-ear.”

“Do It For The Love, I would like to say thank you. The three hours of this musical was pure joy. Old folks and young adults alike were singing along to the Motown tunes and the atmosphere was electric. My family was united by our love for Motown. Being able to spend three hours in such a high-quality establishment is probably something that I would never have been able to do, but I have, thanks to you all.”
