Lisa Meets Social Distortion

April 1, 2017

Lisa recently wrote to us wishing to see her favorite band, Social Distortion, after an untimely lung cancer diagnosis. “In August 2015 I went from having an active, healthy life to being diagnosed with stage IV, inoperable, incurable, lung cancer. I had tickets to the September 2, 2015, Social Distortion concert in Denver, Colorado. Because I was recuperating from a surgical biopsy and undergoing radiation treatments I was physically unable to attend the show.”

Granting Lisa’s wish to see Social Distortion proved to be an unforgettable night. We sent Lisa, her boyfriend and two friends to the Social Distortion concert in addition to a few VIP experiences. Lisa said, “getting to spend one on one time with the individual band members before and after sound check. We got to go back stage after the sound check for photographs and to get a limited edition Social Distortion poster signed. The entire experience made us feel special!”

“Thank you so much for the Social Distortion concert experience. This was the absolute best experience it could have ever been. Being able to attend the concert made me reflect on where I’ve been in the last year and a half. It was so uplifting to be able to go and have fun as Social Distortion VIPs. For days after the concert Jeremy and I would individually reflect on our experience, smile and say, out loud to each other, “We met Mike Ness and Social Distortion!”

Thank you, Lisa, for sharing a part of your journey with us.
