Bertani’s Backyard Benefit Concerts Knock it Out of the Park
March 25, 2020
Kya was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia, a life-threatening blood disorder, when she was 16 years old. She’s spent the past few years undergoing difficult treatments including two bone marrow transplants and chemotherapy. She came to us requesting to see one of her favorite country musicians, Sam Hunt, as she continues to battle her health challenges.
We were glad to make the concert happen for Kya and another friend who is also battling the same disorder. The two not only enjoyed the show, but were invited backstage to meet Sam.
“I can’t put into words how thankful I am an organization like this exists for people like me!,” Kya said. “Concert experiences are SO special and something that people can look forward to and then remember it after it is over. This has inspired me to find people who have never gone to a concert before and to attend one with them. Being at a venue with hundreds of other people who are as excited about you are as music is so rejuvenating! It is such a great atmosphere and everyone should be able to experience it during their lifetime.”
