Sara Talks about Vines & Vibes

Julie is a courageous, 43 year-old, dedicated mother of two who was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) two years ago. She is currently in treatment and responding well although she recently had surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to remove part of her lung. Despite experiencing several side effects of her chemotherapy, Julie remains hopeful that she will live to see both of her sons graduate from high school. Her best friend nominated her to see Kenny Chesney in concert.
“My husband, my nephew Louis and my son Owen went with me to the concert. We were so thrilled to see we had floor tickets! What an amazing experience this was going to be as I don’t think I’ve ever been that close at a concert before. I was also thrilled because my nephew, who loves country music, was able to join us and enjoy the concert with us. The concert itself was so great! People were dancing in the aisles and having a great time. It was a wonderful experience for our family, and I’m so thankful for Do it for the Love for making these grants available! Not only does it let us cancer patients feel normal, but it provides such an opportunity for families to bond over music in a significant way that I couldn’t otherwise afford. Thank you for this opportunity; I will never forget it and neither will my family!”
