Jeanie Meets Michael Franti

June 16, 2017

Jeanie lives with ALS, a progressive disease which “affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.” Jeanie turns to music to connect her family as she continues to fight this terminal disease. Music connects Jean to her two teenage sons, Jackson and James. “My hope is that as my family journeys through this terrible disease, they will find comfort in music and find inspiration in kindness of others.”

Jeanie’s wish was to thank Michael in person for the “hope he creates in his songs.” We were honored to grant Jeanie and her family a VIP experience at  the Michael Franti and Spearhead concert in St. Petersburg.

“My family and I so enjoyed the concert and conversation with Michael. The evening in St.Petersburg was living proof of this. I had two goals in mind before the show: first, to show my sons that in the midst of sorrow, there can be great joy and celebration, if only we choose to find it – we must always choose joy! Secondly, I wanted to voice my appreciation to Michael Franti for the example he sets for all people and the many lives he touches through his words, music and action. Both of my goals were met! What a successful night! Thanks for all you did to make it happen – and all that you do for others.”
