Isabelle Meets The Trans Siberian Orchestra

January 14, 2015

Just before Christmas, we sent Isabelle, who’s 16 years old and living with ulcerative colitis, to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra, with her family. Thanks to the group’s generosity, Isabelle and her family were provided great seats and a chance to meet with the performers. Here’s what she had to say about the experience:

“I want to say thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. Isabelle had a wonderful time and she could not stop smiling. I know that during the show, she truly forget about all her medical issues. In fact, all of us had a wonderful time; it was such a great show. Then, the Meet and Greet experience was just phenomenal. All of the performers were friendly and very down to earth. I will forever be grateful to the Do It For The Love Foundation. The photo here is with singer Natalya Rose-Piette and I love the conversation she struck up with Isabelle; her: “What is that?”, Isabelle: “It is an NG Tube to help me gain weight [cannot see it well in this photo], and her: “Well whatever you are battling you are going to kick its butt because I kicked cancer’s butt!” Again, thank you so much for this extraordinary experience.”

Isabelle was nominated by a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) named Meghan, who worked with Isabelle as a patient and noted on her application: “Isabelle told me she and her family have always wanted to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra and they happen to be playing nearby the weekend before Christmas! I witnessed Isabelle light up while we worked together on this wish and believe that this concert would mean so much to her. I cannot think of anyone better deserving.”
