Sara Talks about Vines & Vibes

It’s our mission to provide the healing power of music to those directly affected by a life-threatening situation. Occasionally, recipients are faced with the unfortunate reality that they may not be able to make it to the concert they’ve so anticipated. Recently, the family of David, a devoted father who was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, realized just before the show that due to declining health, he would not be able to attend his wish grant with his favorite musician and celebrity “crush,” Reba McEntire.
David’s daughters didn’t want to miss the opportunity to fulfill their father’s wish. They attended the show for him, and were able to spend time with Reba backstage before her show where she graciously filmed a video for David and took a photo for him. Sadly, David passed away shortly after that experience. His family will always have the memory of their meeting with an artist who was so special to their father, and in his final days, David was able to benefit from the healing power of music in an indirect, yet powerful way. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in David’s name to the Do It For the Love Foundation. We are honored to have made such an impact and wish his beautiful family their own healing during this time.
“Reba has always had a place in our household, whether in song, at a concert, or on tv when we would watch the show every week as a family– laughing and enjoying “our time,” said David’s daughter. “We were so blessed this foundation gave us such wonderful memories for our daddy!”
