Calvin Sees Green Day

June 15, 2017

Calvin has always loved music, now more than ever. Calvin’s Mom recently shared with us how Calvin’s love of music came to be. “Calvin, 16, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in September 2015. He is now done with treatment and is considered cancer free. He has monthly tests to make sure the cancer has not returned. Calvin is still on crutches 9 months after his surgery to remove the tumor from his tibia. Before Calvin’s diagnosis he was a happy and active teenager. Calvin is slowly getting back to the life of a normal kid but still can’t do many of the things he loves such as soccer, lacrosse, surfing and boogie boarding. Music helped him through the 18 chemo treatments, 5 surgeries and over 100 nights in the hospital.”

We granted Calvin’s wish to see one of his all time favorite bands, Green Day. “Going to see Green Day was a bright spot in a very difficult period his his life. We want to thank the Do It For The Love Foundation for making this happen for him. It was a dream come true for him to see Green Day live and in such a small venue.”
