Cowboy Cancer Warrior

Samuel, a 6-year-old resilient cowboy took a night off from medication and treatments to enjoy Luke Combs live in concert with his family last spring.

“Samuel was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at 2.8 years old,” said his mom, Melissa. “His skin was yellow, and he was having constant nose bleeds. As a Nurse, I knew something was wrong and we were blessed to have caught it early.”

Sam has gone through several life-threatening complications since his diagnosis and has always come out stronger and braver.

“We are blessed that with every complication Sam has fully recovered.”

“Sam is the kindest-hearted child you will ever meet. I’m sure being in his situation and meeting other ill children has something to do with that. He is compassionate and always looking out for others. At the clinic, when his port gets accessed, he always promises to be brave so that the younger kids can see how to be strong.

Sam’s absolute favorite singer is Luke Combs. He knows every word to every song. We have video after video of him singing his favorite “Beer Never Broke My Heart” which is simply adorable. He knows every music video and even has a favorite performance (the Cowboys halftime show).

Thank you so much for all that you do! You are a true blessing!”
